Just going over what has been posted since the beginning of the 12 weeks and it looks as if lot of information was covered. now you are at the point where you may want to concentrate on those areas that you don't deal with daily. For a lot of you that may be the financial areas----keep in mind the assessment is for 2-3 year managers so we won't ask you to figure depreciation (and accountants have software that figures it for them, ha). But for financial know the basics---GAAP-- what a chart of accounts is, what is on an income statement and what should be listed on a balance sheet. Things of this nature, there will be other questions but knowing the overall basics is a tremendous help.

You do so much of this in your daily schedules that you know a lot more than you think. Operations---what goes on in your practice every day and how your revenue cycle runs. policies and procedures? we have so many that it is second nature to us---just think about the main components to have in each for whatever area you are reviewing. Your HIPAA manual? your employment manual? compliance manual?

what about IT---we deal with it whether we want to or not---this not only encompasses your computers but your telephone systems, anything electronic you have----do you have VOIP? Analog? T1's, fiber? think about what you would investigate if you needed a new telephone system. for your computer system it works the same, cloud? on site servers? VNS?
