Hi Everyone

Here's a flash from the past.....flash cards! Remember those? Some of the members that sat for the COPM shared with us a tip that helped them. They created flash cards. As they were going through the resources, they identified areas they were not quite so comfortable with so they took some index cards, wrote up some questions or jotted down some facts and put them on the index card (answers on the back of course) and as they had time in their day, they reviewed their deck of flash cards. How about that for a good old fashion way learning?

Let's say that your practice outsources its accounting (or part of it) and since you are not an accountant, you may not be as comfortable with the financial section. You may want to create a flash card like this:

Front of card

ACCRUAL BASIS ACCOUNTING

Back of card

Income is recognized in the period the work is performed and expenses are recognized in the period they occur

What would you have on your flash card? We want to hear from you what area(s) are you not quite some comfortable with.

Do you have a tip for studying? Share it here -- everyone could use a tip or two.

Talk with you tomorrow!

Peg Pearl
AOA Office
Email: mpearl@cmemanage.com
